Production Details Pierre 2024 came from 5 blocks in Constantia on steep slopes rising to 360 m above sea level. The first 20% of the blend came from clone SB10 on rocky terrain, cold-soaked on skins for 4 days, naturally fermented, then pressed after another 9 days on skins to one new and one second-fill French oak barrique. A second picking ten days later delivered Semillon GD1 and Sauvignon Blanc clones 10 and 11; after an 18-hour skin soak, those berries were pressed to two clay amphorae, one porcelain and one terracotta, for co-fermentation, making up 59% of the blend. The final 21% came from the highest Sauvignon Blanc block on the property, was whole-bunch pressed, and sent to two new barriques, one French and one Austrian. All batches matured on their gross lees for 8 months before bottling.
