Production Details McGregor valley fruit from a slightly sloped vineyard at Tanagra surrounded by Karoo fynbos and veld. Vines cover 1.5 ha, planted in 1998/9 on Richter 99 rootstock, with about 5,000 vines trained north-south on a 5-wire system. Yield reported as 2 tons/ha. Grapes were handpicked early in the morning, cooled to 14C overnight, wild-yeast fermented in tanks with manual punch-downs, then gently pressed. Malolactic fermentation took place in older 500L and 225L French oak barrels for 10 months. Only very light filtering; sediment may occur.
