Production Details W.O. Stellenbosch. The 2022 season had ideal winter conditions that replenished water reserves and supported even growth, followed by heat peaks, sunburn damage on some blocks, unexpected rainfall, and disease pressure before a later harvest. Grapes were picked at optimum ripeness from the oldest vineyards on the farm and fermented in open fermenters on the skins for 5-8 days at an average temperature of 25-28°C, with punch-downs every 2 hours. After malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine aged in 100% new French oak for 24 months. After bottling, the wine was stored for 2 years before release.
