Production Details Grenache noir from a dry-farmed bush-vine vineyard in Swartland (Malmesbury), planted in 2000 on red iron ferricrete with underlying clay. The site was planted with selection massale material from an older vineyard north of the Swartland. Grapes were harvested in the morning, chilled overnight in a cold room, fermented naturally as whole bunches, remained on skins for approximately 20 days, and were basket pressed. After malolactic fermentation, the wine spent 10 months in old 500L barrels before bottling.
