Production Details Wine of Origin Western Cape. Verdelho is grown in koffieklip-rich soil on the foot slopes of the Helderberg Mountain. Chenin Blanc comes from Paarl, Alvarinho from gravel in Wellington, old vine Palomino from Piekenierskloof sandstone, and Fernao Pires from gravelly soils along the Breede River. The grapes were delicately whole bunch pressed and naturally fermented in second-fill and older French oak barrels. Only the free run juice was used. The wine matured on lees for 10 months prior to blending and bottling and was bottled unfiltered.
